hello all

just wanted to drop by and say hello. my wife and i are retired so we don't have a job to loose like a lot of people do here in the states. we do worry about social security and our small government pension though.
we had a dead tree in our back yard and another that looked bad so we hired a tree service to take it down and remove the limbs. the trees were close to my house so i did not have much choice about removing them. i truly hated to spend the money it cost but if one of them fell on my house it would have been a lot more money. i only called two places to get a price. i checked their reviews on the computer though and one of them had 120 reviews which were mostly great. i decided to take them. the owner of the company came out and gave me a price, which i thought was resonable, so i gave him the job. three men came out and in 4 hours they had the tree down and the limbs chopped up and the put pieces of the trunk in their trunk. i was very satisfied. well that is it for now. have a great weekend.

HELLO MY FRIENDS

today is friday and that is the day we rent a car from enterprise rental. we have been doing this since last november when my car got totalled out.rentals on the weekend are half price and you have to rent for 3 days but i have coupons for one free day on the weekend. if you have a car every day you kind of take it for granted but when you just get one on the weekend it is like a treat. i know people who have pools and they don't use them much because it is always in their yard. let's face it, we want what we do not have and then when we get it - we don't want it. i know for a fact there is a country song like that.
mrsh. and i are doing fine in case you are worried. i hope you all are well also. for any of you that like to down load freeware i found a good program and it is called crossloop. you can google that if you like. if you have the program and the person who has the computer you wish to control remotely has to have the same program installed on his computer. you can read about it when you go to the crossloop site. it is pretty fast because i tried it with a friend. some times my friend needs help with his computer and he lives in fla. and i live in ga. he messages me on yahoo messenger and with crossloop running i can access his computer. he could access mine also if he wanted to.
well that is about it for now.talk to you guys later.

hello all

well it is abot 35 degrees here in atlanta. my friend walker ,who lives in canada , would say that that's t shirt weather. i use to live in massachusetts and back then i thought the same but now i do not. that is what happens when you move south and have lived here since 1969. i am also 63 years old and that does not help either.drop by walker's blog this morning and check it out. you will have a good laugh for sure. i had planned on getting up and raking leaves but not at this temperature. there not hurting and one laying on the ground anyway and besides that the leaves have not all fallen any way. i can always find an excuse for not working can't i.
on thanksgiving this year my son david and i went to a bar at 6 p.m. and they had a free buffet. i had to pay for the two beers i had which was 9.00 but they had a free bingo game and i won 10 dollars. we each had 2 plates of food so we came out good on that deal. my son had 3 glasses of tea and that was no charge.i guess if i had not been drinking beer he would have had to pay for his tea.well it is abot 35 degrees here in atlanta. my friend walker ,who lives in canada , would say that that's t shirt weather. i use to live in massachusetts and back then i thought the same but now i do not. that is what happens when you move south and have lived here since 1969. i am also 63 years old and that does not help either.drop by walker's blog this morning and check it out. you will have a good laugh for sure. i had planned on getting up and raking leaves but not at this temperature. there not hurting and one laying on the ground anyway and besides that the leaves have not all fallen any way. i can always find an excuse for not working can't i.

i have stopped working on my den .i am laying low for a while until i get some money to pay for carpet and installation of the carpet. my problem is i am on a set income and it seems like the bills get more costly each year because the rates keep rising and my pay does not. it would be nice if i had a two day a week job i could run from home to make some extra cash. now that i am retired i would not want to work for some one else again.
well my friends that is about it for now. i will try to write again soon.

hello all

it is wednesday today and a little cold.the den is just about finished except for the carpet . i may have to wait a bit to get that installed because my money is short like usual. i am not sure it is a good idea to do it any way because the holidays are here again.
mrsh. has a cold and she has been coughing a lot. i am the one that started things off though with a sore throat but i was not coughing. this morning i woke up with a cough. we are going to pass this thing back and forth for sure. i hate colds of course , who doesn't. when my nose is stopped up and my throat is sore and closing up also it's the worse.
i have a carport and right off of my carport and adjacent to my den is two closets which i am now making some shelves. i plan on putting my tools in one closet and mrsh. will put xmas stuff in the other.
there was some guys next door getting the leaves up from the owners yard. i wonder what he had to pay them. they show up once a week to work on his yard. it must be nice to hire some one to come every week and work for you.
mrsh. and i have been doing a lot of grocery shopping lately and stocking up. she uses coupons every week and we are going to have to stop so the grocery stores won't go out of business.
i called my mother the other day and she is doing o.k. mrsh. says she sounds a lot better on the phone now that my father is gone. she took care of him for almost two years while he was sick and that was quite a strain on her. she is a strong woman though even at 84 and she took care of my father and did not put him in to a nursery home. he definitely did not want to go there.
well my friends, that is it for now. take care of yourself during these holidays and do not get to drunk and drive.
