getting by.

the last post i made was about dumpster diving. i use to do that to make extra money. the last job i had was working for the county at the water department. most of my previous jobs i had we had 30 minutes for lunch but the county had one hour. right around this time of year people would sell these books for about $10.00 and in these books were coupons that were good for buying things at restaurants and some were good for say50 percent off when you bought a fan at home depot or lowes which sells lumber and a lot of other things like electrical and plubbing and garden supplies. there might be a few coupons for buying a whopper sandwich at burger king and getting one free. one day i had a book of coupons in my car and it was lunch time and i was going to go to burger king and buy a whopper and i told some one and they asked me to pick them up one for them and they gave me the money. when i went i got two whoppers, one for them and one for me and i used a coupon i had so that made mine free. i figured if i could get three people who wanted one whopper each i could get mine free and pocket the money for one by using two coupons for buy one and get one free. so at lunch time i would tell every one where i was going to eat and i asked them if they wanted me to get theres. they gave me there order and i wrote it down and off i went. i used my coupons of course and always got my food for free and made money besides. they got the food they wanted and the correct change and did not have to leave the shop and that made them happy. it saved them not only time but gas for their cars to go for lunch. ater a while i would find two or three fast food places right next to each other that would accept coupons out of my book so i then gave people a choice of what to get . i had a desk job and i was able to eat my food usually at my desk right after lunch if i had to. at xmas time they would sell the books of coupons at church sales and they would cost about 7.50 each. at almost closing time though the price of the books would be $3.50. if i saw they had 20 books left i would offer them $2.00 each for all 20 . i could then turn around and sell the books myself for $6.00 each which was a bargain or i could sell the coupons in the book per coupon. if i heard some one was going to buy a fan at lowes for $50.00 i might have a coupon for 50 percent off. i would sell that person a coupon for $2.00 and they would save 25 dollars on the fan minus the 2 they gave me, a $23.00 dollar savings for them and the $2.00 i got paid for an entire book of coupons even though i only sold the one to them. the good thing about doing this also was during the weekend i would go to the sme fast food places and order food for me and my family and they would always put on xtra food because i went there so much during the week and i got to know every one at the restaurants.
